Dreams and Realities

Your silhouette,
strong against the darkness
of my soul,
Fills my heart
with a yearning
so overwhelming that
I swoon.

Your breath
plays with rhythms
in a symphony of
whispers in my ear
reviving,
reinventing,
rejuvenating,
my innermost secrets.

Oh, the ecstasy
of first love!
Oh, the fervour
of that first touch!

Those moments,
hushed in their decline,
are no more.

Memories,
agonisingly persistent,
remain.

The only other place where I read such real poetry was in my classic poetry textbook.

You're gifted at expression.

Aww! You flatter me. :) Thank you for your appreciation. I try to do better and I hope to call myself a poet someday.

Yes.

Been there. Have felt this.

Thanks for putting it in words so well.
